I received a counterfeit Arduino with a Sain Store business card enclosed, which I returned unopened. These are clones that are made to look like official boards, and DO NOT MATCH the image on the web page. The thing that bothers me is the web page for this item says "Official board made in Italy". This is why I bought it, but it is false.
They will just end up giving the Arduino Project's work a bad name, and I cannot support them. I did not receive a surface mount board like others have. Clones are perfectly legit, but it is wrong to pretend to be an official board and not have a manufacturing location marked on them, and then cleverly alter the official Arduino markings to say "Designed in Italy" instead of Made in Italy.
As an aside, it wasn't the latest revision R3, but an R2 board, but at least the web image was an (Offfical) R2. Just buy an official board. Support the good work of the Arduino project.
I got this to do some cool homegrown programming stuff. :)
Its everything I wanted and needed. Love this little thing.
The only thing I wish was more clear was that you are ONLY buying the Arduino board. I was slightly confused as to what came in the package and if I would need to buy separate wires. It wasn't a problem, but I would have ordered the wires if I had known instead of having to run to [Expensive Store With Clueless Employees].
